  2. Refrigerate overnight. (My husband had me add more sugar in the morning because it soaked through. Sugar is needed for caramelizing. I also needed to let it sit out to room temperature before cooking.)
  3. Cook over high flame on outdoor grill until it is cooked to your preference. We like to cook over mesquite charcoal and large wood chips. Steak will be crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside! πŸ˜‹
  4. Ready to serve and ENJOY!

Place the steaks on the grill. Flip the steaks and cook for another five or so minutes for medium-rare to medium. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grate. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; place steak on prepared baking sheet. One-inch-thick strip steaks are thick enough to give the crust time to form over the grill without risking overcooking the interior.
